Senior Analog Design Engineer

Circuit Seed LLC develops and markets a revolutionary new analog circuit design platform  that offers designers simplicity and industry leading performance.  The core technology is a flexible structure called a CiFET that can implement a full range of analog functions. This is a new platform for processing analog signals using 100% digital components with outstanding attributes including power, performance and area.

A key part of our activity is to demonstrate and package the impressive capabilities of the CiFET at progressively smaller process nodes.  We are looking for an experienced analog IC designer to lead the charge in building our engineering expertise around the CiFET core technology.   While the initial role is a contract position, additional projects may follow.

As the Senior Analog Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of low power analog integrated circuits in next generation devices using the CiFET.  This first project will take existing circuits, fabricated with GF 130nm, and port them to TSMC 28nm for tape-out, packaging and testing.  Some preliminary training will be required and technical support from the technology inventors will be available.

The applicant should have knowledge and experience with Op Amps, Trans-Impedance Amplifiers, band-pass filters, ADCs, etc. To be successful in this role, you should be fully capable of top-level die development, tape-out, packaging and testing, and have a strong knowledge of design flow and ESD best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of product ownership and delivery.
  • Comprehensive simulation skills in Cadence including Monte Carlo, and Corner analysis.
  • Detailed knowledge of standard analog cell design including: bandgaps, op-amps, detectors, regulators, precision current sources, basic logic synthesis.
  • Exposure to best analog layout practices in Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Exposure to commercial CMOS wafer fab technologies, 28nm and below.

Sensory Seed is a division of Circuit Seed that is focused on applying our industry-leading analog electronic design technology to applications in the Health and Life Sciences markets.  Our flagship technology is a revolutionary new analog circuit design platform that offers designers simplicity and industry leading performance.  The core technology is a flexible structure called a CiFET that can implement a full range of analog functions. This is a new platform for processing analog signals using 100% digital components with outstanding attributes including power, performance and area.

A key part of our activity is to assist customers in applying CiFET-based analog electronic designs to their Health and Life Sciences diagnostic products.  We are looking for an experienced and creative analog IC designer to take the technical lead in supporting these customers.

This position involves IC design, circuit requirements definition, simulation analysis, layout direction, circuit evaluation, system level evaluation, verification testing, and other tasks in the development of implantable medical devices. These will be low power analog integrated circuits using the CiFET from Circuit Seed LLC (www.circuitseed.com).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, where solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable.
  • Analyze, design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems – you may also be responsible for major subsystem designs.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Manage the review of vendor capability to support product development.
  • Specify and design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Design test structures for highly testable ICs and/or built-in self-test architectures.
  • Perform modeling and simulation of ICs and multi-chip modules.
  • Direct and review IC layout activities.
  • Specify, direct and perform design characterization and verification of ICs and electronic modules to ensure device capability.
  • Conduct reviews to ensure device quality, capability and functional requirements.

Qualifications 

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience
  • Complete understanding and ability to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts across the field or analog design.
  • Ability to design analog integrated circuits with a depth of technical knowledge involving analog circuit functions or mixed mode sensing and measurement functions.
  • Low voltage design experience
  • Ability to define circuit requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of design-for-testability and design-for-manufacturability methodologies.
  • Thorough knowledge of semiconductor devices and fabrication technology.
  • Expertise with Cadence design tools.

Expertise with statistical methods and quality control.
